After they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, "Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?" Elisha replied, "Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit."

4Then Elijah said to him, "Please stay here, for the LORD has sent me to Jericho." But Elisha replied, "As the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you." So they went to Jericho.
5The sons of the prophets who were in Jericho approached Elisha and said to him, "Do you know that today the LORD is going to take your master away from you?" He answered, "Yes, I know it. Be quiet."

7Fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood at a distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan.
8Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up, and struck the water with it. The water divided to the right and to the left, and the two of them crossed over on dry ground.
19Elijah left from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve pairs of oxen, and he was with the twelfth pair. Elijah passed by him and threw his cloak over him.
20Elisha left the oxen, ran after Elijah, and said, 'Let me kiss my father and mother goodbye, and then I will follow you.' Elijah said to him, 'Go back, for what have I done to you?'
21Elisha returned, took the pair of oxen, and slaughtered them. Using the equipment of the oxen, he cooked the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he got up, followed Elijah, and became his attendant.
12Elijah replied, 'If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!' And fire of God came down from heaven and consumed the captain and his fifty men.
13A third time, the king sent a captain with fifty men. This third captain approached, fell on his knees before Elijah, and pleaded with him, 'Man of God, please let my life and the lives of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your eyes.'
14He continued, 'Behold, fire has come down from heaven and consumed the first two captains and their men. But now, please let my life be valuable in your eyes.'
15The angel of the LORD said to Elijah, 'Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.' So Elijah got up and went down with him to the king.
11Now you tell me, 'Go and say to your master, Elijah is here!'
12But I, your servant, fear that if I leave, the Spirit of the LORD will carry you off to some place I don't know, and when I go to tell Ahab and he cannot find you, he will kill me. Yet I, your servant, have feared the LORD from my youth.
17Then Elisha prayed, "LORD, please open his eyes so that he may see." The LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he saw that the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha.
18As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, "Please strike this army with blindness." So He struck them with blindness, as Elisha had requested.
31He said, "May God deal with me, be it ever so severely, if the head of Elisha son of Shaphat remains on his shoulders today!"
2And the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
15Elisha said to him, 'Take a bow and arrows.' So he took a bow and arrows.
2Let us go to the Jordan, and let each of us take a log from there, and let us build a place for us to live there. And he said, "Go."

11But Jehoshaphat asked, "Is there no prophet of the LORD here, through whom we may inquire of the LORD?" One of the servants of the king of Israel answered, "Elisha, son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah, is here."
1Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, 'Gird your loins, take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-Gilead.'
2When you arrive there, look for Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi. Go to him, make him rise from among his companions, and lead him into an inner room.

36At the time of the evening offering, Elijah the prophet approached and said, "LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that You are God in Israel, that I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your command.
23Elijah took the boy, brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. Elijah said, 'Look, your son is alive.'
33He went in, shut the door behind them both, and prayed to the LORD.
