Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, "Arise, take your household, and go live in whatever place you can, for the LORD has called for a famine, and it will come upon the land for seven years."
So the woman arose and acted according to the word of the man of God. She departed with her household and lived as a foreigner in the land of the Philistines for seven years.
At the end of the seven years, the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, and she went to appeal to the king for her house and her land.
Meanwhile, the king was speaking to Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, "Please tell me about all the great deeds Elisha has done."
As Gehazi was recounting how Elisha had restored the dead to life, the woman whose son Elisha had restored came to cry out to the king about her house and her land. Gehazi said, "My lord the king, here is the woman, and here is her son whom Elisha restored to life!"
The king questioned the woman, and she told him her story. Then the king assigned an official to her and said, "Restore everything that belongs to her, as well as all the produce of the field from the day she left the land until now."
