13Elisha said to him, "Tell her this: 'You have gone to all this trouble for us. What can be done for you? Should I speak on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?'" She replied, "I am content to live among my own people."
14Elisha asked, "What then can be done for her?" Gehazi answered, "Well, she has no son, and her husband is old."
15Elisha said, "Call her." So Gehazi called her, and she came and stood in the doorway.
16Then Elisha said, "At this time next year, you will be holding a son in your arms." She replied, "No, my lord, man of God, do not deceive your servant."
17But the woman conceived and gave birth to a son at the appointed time the next year, just as Elisha had told her.
18The child grew, and one day he went out to his father, who was with the reapers.
29Elisha said to Gehazi, 'Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff, and go. If you meet anyone, do not greet them, and if anyone greets you, do not answer. Lay my staff on the boy's face.'
30But the boy’s mother said, 'As surely as the LORD lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.' So he got up and followed her.
31Gehazi went on ahead and laid the staff on the boy’s face, but there was no sound or response. So Gehazi went back to meet Elisha and told him, 'The boy has not awakened.'
18She said to Elijah, "What have I to do with you, man of God? Have you come to bring my sin to remembrance and to kill my son?"
19Elijah said to her, "Give me your son." He took the boy from her arms, brought him up to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed.
20Then he cried out to the LORD and said, "O LORD my God, have You also brought tragedy upon the widow I am staying with by causing her son to die?"
36Elisha called Gehazi and said, 'Call the Shunammite woman.' So he called her, and when she came, he said, 'Take your son.'
37She came, fell at his feet, and bowed to the ground. Then she picked up her son and went out.

12When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice and said to Saul, "Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!"
18Then the king said to the woman, "Do not hide anything I ask you." The woman said, "Let my lord the king speak."
20She said, 'I have one small request to make of you. Do not refuse me.' The king replied, 'Ask, my mother, for I will not refuse you.'
3At the end of the seven years, the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, and she went to appeal to the king for her house and her land.
4Meanwhile, the king was speaking to Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, "Please tell me about all the great deeds Elisha has done."
5As Gehazi was recounting how Elisha had restored the dead to life, the woman whose son Elisha had restored came to cry out to the king about her house and her land. Gehazi said, "My lord the king, here is the woman, and here is her son whom Elisha restored to life!"
6The king questioned the woman, and she told him her story. Then the king assigned an official to her and said, "Restore everything that belongs to her, as well as all the produce of the field from the day she left the land until now."
28Then the king asked her, "What is your problem?" She replied, "This woman said to me, 'Give me your son so we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.'
11She said, "Let the king swear by the LORD your God that the avenger of blood will not continue to destroy and that they will not eliminate my son." The king said, "As surely as the LORD lives, not one hair of your son’s head will fall to the ground."
12Then the woman said, "Please let your servant speak a word to my lord the king." He said, "Speak."
25When Gehazi went inside and stood before his master, Elisha asked him, 'Where have you been, Gehazi?' He answered, 'Your servant didn’t go anywhere.'
26But Elisha said to him, 'Was my spirit not with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money or accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, sheep, cattle, male servants, and female servants?'
15But Sarah denied it, saying, 'I did not laugh,' because she was afraid. But He replied, 'No, you did laugh.'
16When Ruth came to her mother-in-law, Naomi asked, 'How did it go, my daughter?' Then she told her everything the man had done for her.

5But the LORD had already told Ahijah, "The wife of Jeroboam is coming to inquire about her son, for he is sick. You are to say such-and-such to her. When she arrives, she will be pretending to be someone else."
6Then the woman went to her husband and told him, "A man of God came to me. His appearance was like that of an angel of God, very awe-inspiring. I did not ask him where he was from, and he did not tell me his name.
20So she got up in the middle of the night, took my son from my side while I was asleep, and laid him in her arms. She then placed her dead son in my arms.
21When I got up in the morning to nurse my son, I discovered he was dead. But when I looked more closely at him in the morning light, I saw that it was not the son I had borne.
18When they returned to Elisha, who was staying in Jericho, he said to them, 'Didn't I tell you not to go?'
39Then I said to my master, 'What if the woman does not come back with me?'
28You didn’t even let me kiss my grandchildren and my daughters goodbye. You have done a foolish thing.
