15Now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and made a name for Yourself that endures to this day, we have sinned and acted wickedly.
16O Lord, in keeping with all Your righteous acts, let Your anger and wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain. For because of our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors, Jerusalem and Your people have become an object of scorn to all those around us.
13After everything that has happened to us because of our evil deeds and great guilt—though you, our God, have punished us less than our sins deserved and have given us a remnant like this—
14shall we again break your commandments and intermarry with the peoples who commit these abominations? Would you not become so angry with us that you would destroy us completely, leaving no remnant or survivor?
15O Lord, the God of Israel, you are righteous! We are left with this remnant today. Here we are before you in our guilt, though no one can stand in your presence because of this.
32Now therefore, our God, the great, mighty, and awesome God who keeps His covenant and steadfast love, do not let the hardship that has come upon us—on our kings, leaders, priests, prophets, ancestors, and on all Your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until today—seem insignificant to You.
33You are righteous in all that has happened to us, because You have acted faithfully while we have acted wickedly.
34Our kings, leaders, priests, and ancestors did not obey Your law or pay attention to Your commandments and warnings You gave them.
35Even while they were in their kingdom, enjoying Your abundant goodness and the spacious, fertile land You gave them, they did not serve You or turn from their evil deeds.
36Here we are today, slaves in the land You gave to our ancestors so they could enjoy its fruit and its goodness—here we are, slaves in it!
37Its abundant harvest goes to the kings You have set over us because of our sins. They rule over our bodies and our livestock as they please, and we are in great distress.
19Have You utterly rejected Judah? Does Your soul loathe Zion? Why have You struck us so that we cannot be healed? We hoped for peace, but no good has come; for a time of healing, but there was only terror.
20We acknowledge, LORD, our wickedness and the guilt of our ancestors; indeed, we have sinned against You.
6let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you.
7We have acted very corruptly against you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees, and laws you gave your servant Moses.
17This is from the taunts of those who insult and revile, from the presence of the enemy and the avenger.
6I said, 'My God, I am ashamed and humiliated to lift my face to you, my God, because our sins are higher than our heads, and our guilt has reached the heavens.'
7'From the days of our ancestors until now, we have been steeped in great guilt. Because of our sins, we, our kings and priests, have been handed over to the kings of the lands, to the sword, captivity, plunder, and humiliation, as it is today.'
9'Though we are slaves, our God has not abandoned us in our slavery. He has shown us kindness in the sight of the kings of Persia. He has granted us new life to rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins, and He has given us a wall of protection in Judah and Jerusalem.'
10'But now, our God, what can we say after this? For we have forsaken the commandments'
18Incline Your ear, my God, and hear. Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city that bears Your name. For we are not presenting our pleas before You on account of our righteousness, but because of Your great mercy.
12For our transgressions are multiplied before You, and our sins testify against us. Indeed, our transgressions are with us, and we know our iniquities.
37and they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and they repent and plead with You in the land of their captivity, saying, 'We have sinned, we have done wrong, and we have acted wickedly.'
25Let us lie down in our shame, and let our disgrace cover us. We have sinned against the LORD our God, both we and our ancestors; from our youth to this day, we have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.
10When you tell these people all these words, they will ask you, 'Why has the LORD declared such a great calamity against us? What is our guilt? What is the sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?'

23So we fasted and prayed to our God about this, and He answered our prayer.
7Though our iniquities testify against us, LORD, act for the sake of Your name. Indeed, our backslidings are many; we have sinned against You.
9This is why our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons, daughters, and wives are in captivity today.
10Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, so that His fierce anger may turn away from us.
9'If disaster comes upon us—whether the sword, judgment, plague, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in your presence (for your name is in this temple) and cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.'
12Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.
2They said to Jeremiah the prophet, "Please let our petition fall before you and pray to the LORD your God for us, for all this remnant. For we are few left from many, as your own eyes can see us.
40Let us examine and test our ways, and turn back to the LORD.
13Go and inquire of the LORD for me, for the people, and for all of Judah concerning the words of this book that has been found. For great is the LORD’s wrath that is kindled against us because our ancestors did not obey the words of this book by doing everything written concerning us.

17Instead, we will do everything we promised: we will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, just as we, our ancestors, our kings, and our officials did in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem.
