1 Moses called all Israel together and said to them, "Listen, Israel, to the statutes and judgments that I am speaking to you today. Learn them and carefully follow them."

25 But now why should we die? This great fire will consume us, and we will die if we continue to hear the voice of the LORD our God.
26 For who among all flesh has ever heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the fire, as we have, and lived?
27 Go near and listen to all that the LORD our God says. Then you can tell us everything the LORD our God tells you, and we will listen and obey.
27 but as a witness between us and you and the generations that follow, that we will worship the LORD at His sanctuary with our burnt offerings, sacrifices, and fellowship offerings.’ Then in the future, your descendants will not be able to say to ours, ‘You have no share in the LORD.’
28 And we said, ‘If they ever say this to us or to our descendants, we will answer: Look at the replica of the altar of the LORD, which our ancestors built—not for burnt offerings or sacrifices, but as a witness between us and you.’
13 This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I made a covenant with your ancestors when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, saying:
23 But He brought us out from there to lead us in and give us the land that He swore to our fathers.
24 The LORD commanded us to obey all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God for our own good always, so that He might preserve our lives, as it is today.
25 It will be righteousness for us if we carefully obey all these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us.
7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They said, "We will do everything the LORD has said; we will obey."

6 The LORD said to me, ‘Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Listen to the words of this covenant and do them.’
24 We did this because we feared that someday your descendants might say to ours, ‘What do you have to do with the LORD, the God of Israel?’
