    4therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains and hills, to the streams and valleys, to the desolate ruins and the abandoned towns that have been plundered and ridiculed by the surrounding nations:

    5Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Surely in my burning zeal I have spoken against the remnants of the nations and against Edom, who with glee and utter contempt claimed my land as their own possession, plundering its pasturelands.

    6Therefore, prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the streams and valleys: ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: I am speaking in my jealous anger because you have endured the scorn of the nations.’

    7Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: 'I have raised my hand in an oath: Surely the nations that surround you will endure their own shame.'

    12Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard all the contemptuous things you said against the mountains of Israel. You said, 'They have been laid waste and given over to us to devour.'

    13You boasted against me with your mouth and multiplied your words against me. I have heard it.

    14This is what the Sovereign LORD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.

    15As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel when it became desolate, so will I deal with you. You will become a desolation, Mount Seir, along with all of Edom—all of it. Then they will know that I am the LORD.

    13Son of man, if a land sins against me by acting faithlessly, and I stretch out my hand against it, breaking its supply of bread, sending famine upon it, and cutting off from it both man and beast,
