He prospered, and all of Israel obeyed him. 24 All the officials, the mighty men, and all of King David’s sons pledged their allegiance to King Solomon. 25 The LORD greatly exalted Solomon in the sight of all Israel, and gave him royal majesty greater than that of any king before him in Israel. 26 David son of Jesse was king over all Israel. 27 He ruled over Israel for forty years: seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem. 28 David died at a good old age, having enjoyed a full life of days, riches, and honor. His son Solomon succeeded him as king. 29 The acts of King David, from the first to the last, are written in the records of Samuel the seer, Nathan the prophet, and Gad the seer. 30 These records include details about his reign, his might, and the events that affected him, Israel, and all the kingdoms of the surrounding lands.
