  • 24 Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes stubble and as dry grass sinks in the flame, so their roots will decay and their blossoms will blow away like dust. For they have rejected the instruction of the LORD of Hosts and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel.

  • 9 I will raise weeping and wailing for the mountains and a dirge for the pastures in the wilderness, because they are burned up and desolate; no one passes through, and cattle cannot be heard anymore—birds of the sky and animals alike have fled and are gone.

  • 18 The men who violated my covenant and did not keep the terms of the covenant they made before me, I will treat like the calf they cut in two and walked between its pieces.
