Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, 'Listen now, Hananiah, the LORD has not sent you, but you have led this people to trust in falsehood.'

9 But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the LORD only if his word comes to pass.
10 Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it.
11 And Hananiah declared in the presence of all the people, saying, 'This is what the LORD says: Within two years, I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, from the necks of all the nations.' At this, the prophet Jeremiah went on his way.
12 After the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying:
13 Go and tell Hananiah, saying, 'This is what the LORD says: You have broken wooden yokes, but in their place you have made iron yokes.'
14 Do not listen to the words of the prophets who say to you, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they are prophesying lies to you.
15 For I have not sent them, declares the LORD, yet they prophesy lies in my name, so that I might drive you out, and you will perish—you and the prophets who are prophesying to you.
16 Then I said to the priests and all this people: This is what the LORD says: Do not listen to the words of your prophets who are prophesying to you, saying, ‘The articles of the LORD’s house will soon be returned from Babylon.’ They are prophesying lies to you.
17 Do not listen to them. Instead, serve the king of Babylon and live. Why should this city become a ruin?
30 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying:
31 Send this message to all the exiles: This is what the LORD says concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite—Shemaiah has prophesied to you though I did not send him, and he has made you trust in a lie.
1 In the same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah, king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah son of Azzur, the prophet from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the LORD, in the sight of the priests and all the people, saying:
2 This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: 'I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.'
14 The LORD said to me: "The prophets are prophesying lies in My name. I did not send them, command them, or speak to them. They are seeing false visions, giving worthless divinations and deceitful messages from their own hearts.
15 Therefore, this is what the LORD says about the prophets who prophesy in My name, though I did not send them, and who declare, 'No sword or famine will touch this land': By sword and famine, those prophets will meet their end.
10 They are prophesying lies to you, and the result will be that I will drive you far from your land, and you will perish.
8 This is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Do not let the prophets or diviners among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that you are dreaming.
9 For they are prophesying falsely in my name. I have not sent them, declares the LORD.
27 Now why have you not rebuked Jeremiah of Anathoth, who has been prophesying to you?
6 They have seen false visions and lying divinations. They say, ‘This is the declaration of the LORD,’ when the LORD has not sent them, and they hope to fulfill their words.
7 Haven’t you seen a false vision and spoken a lying divination when you say, ‘Thus says the LORD,’ but I have not spoken?
8 Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you have spoken falsehood and seen lies, I am against you, declares the Lord GOD.
16 This is what the LORD of Hosts says: Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They are filling you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.
12 But Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people, 'The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the words you have heard.'
20 So hear the word of the LORD, all you exiles I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon.
21 This is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says about Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying a lie to you in my name: 'I am about to hand them over to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, and he will kill them before your very eyes.'
14 Jeremiah replied, "That is a lie! I am not deserting to the Chaldeans." But Irijah would not listen to him. Instead, he seized Jeremiah and brought him to the officials.
32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, declares the LORD. They tell them and lead My people astray with their lies and reckless boasting. Yet I did not send or command them to do so, and they do not benefit these people at all, declares the LORD.
8 But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.
1 When Jeremiah finished speaking to all the people all the words of the LORD their God, which the LORD their God had sent him to say to them, this is what happened.
2 Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, 'You are lying! The LORD our God did not send you to say, ‘Do not go to Egypt to settle there.’
3 Rather, Baruch son of Neriah is inciting you against us to hand us over to the Chaldeans, to be killed or deported to Babylon.
19 Where are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, 'The king of Babylon will not come against you or this land'?
22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be afraid of him.
12 They have lied about the Lord and said, 'He won't do anything! No disaster will come upon us; we will not see sword or famine.'
8 And when Jeremiah finished speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests, the prophets, and all the people seized him, saying, 'You shall surely die!'
9 'Why have you prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, “This house will become like Shiloh, and this city will be desolate, without inhabitants”?' And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the LORD's house.
4 Do not trust deceitful words, saying: ‘This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD.’
21 Therefore, this is what the LORD says concerning the men of Anathoth, who seek your life and say, ‘Do not prophesy in the name of the LORD, or you will die by our hands.’
22 So now the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouths of these prophets of yours. The LORD has decreed disaster for you.
37 This is what you are to say to the prophet: 'What has the LORD answered you?' and 'What has the LORD spoken?'
10 Then I said, 'Ah, Lord GOD, surely you have utterly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, ‘You will have peace,’ when the sword is at their throats.'
