Then I said, 'Ah, Lord GOD, surely you have utterly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, ‘You will have peace,’ when the sword is at their throats.'

19Have You utterly rejected Judah? Does Your soul loathe Zion? Why have You struck us so that we cannot be healed? We hoped for peace, but no good has come; for a time of healing, but there was only terror.
17They keep saying to those who despise the LORD, ‘The LORD says you will have peace.’ And to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his heart they say, ‘No harm will come to you.’

8You have feared the sword, so I will bring the sword against you, declares the Lord God.
10When you tell these people all these words, they will ask you, 'Why has the LORD declared such a great calamity against us? What is our guilt? What is the sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?'

21Young and old lie together in the dust of the streets; my young women and young men have fallen by the sword. You have slain them in the day of your anger; you have slaughtered them without pity.

3and say to the southern forest, 'Listen to the word of the LORD. The blazing flame will not be quenched, and every face from the south to the north will be scorched by it.
4All human beings will see that I, the LORD, have ignited it, and it will not be put out.

17Therefore, this is what the Lord says: 'Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, your sons and daughters will fall by the sword, your land will be divided up with a measuring line, and you yourself will die in a polluted land. Israel will surely go into exile away from their homeland.'
20So I said to them, 'The word of the Lord came to me, saying:
7All your allies have driven you to your border; those at peace with you have deceived you; they have prevailed against you. Those who eat your bread have set a trap under you—there is no understanding in him.
