Because they have misled my people by saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because when a flimsy wall is built, they plaster it over with whitewash,

17They keep saying to those who despise the LORD, ‘The LORD says you will have peace.’ And to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his heart they say, ‘No harm will come to you.’
30As for you, son of man, the people of your nation are talking about you near the walls and at the doorways of their houses. They are saying to one another, each to their brother, 'Come and hear the message that has come from the LORD.'
