  • Isa 59:6-9 : 6 Their webs will not become clothing, and they cannot cover themselves with their works. Their deeds are works of iniquity, and acts of violence are in their hands. 7 Their feet run to do evil, and they are quick to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are sinful; ruin and destruction are in their paths. 8 The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their ways. They have made their paths crooked; whoever walks in them does not know peace. 9 Therefore, justice is far from us, and righteousness does not reach us. We hope for light, but behold, there is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in gloom. 10 We grope along the wall like the blind; we grope as if we had no eyes. At midday, we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we are like the dead. 11 We all growl like bears and moan like doves. We hope for justice, but it is nowhere, and for salvation, but it is far from us. 12 For our transgressions are multiplied before You, and our sins testify against us. Indeed, our transgressions are with us, and we know our iniquities. 13 We have rebelled and denied the LORD; we have turned away from following our God. We speak of oppression and revolt, conceiving lies and uttering them from the heart. 14 Justice is driven back, and righteousness stands far off, for truth has stumbled in the streets, and honesty cannot enter. 15 Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The LORD saw this and was displeased, for there was no justice.
