    12I will take the remnant of Judah who were determined to go to the land of Egypt to live there, and they will all meet their end in the land of Egypt. They will fall by the sword and perish by famine. From the least to the greatest, they will die by the sword and famine. They will become an object of cursing and astonishment, a curse and a reproach.

    18But since we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by sword and famine.

    19And when we burned incense to the Queen of Heaven and poured drink offerings to her, did we do it without our husbands’ approval? Were they not with us when we made cakes shaped like her and poured drink offerings to her?

    20Then Jeremiah said to all the people, both the men and the women, who had given him this answer:
