Josh 13:8-9 : 8 The other half-tribe, along with the Reubenites and the Gadites, has already received the inheritance that Moses gave them beyond the Jordan to the east, as the servant of the LORD had assigned to them.
Their territory extended from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Valley, including the city in the middle of the valley, and the entire plateau from Medeba to Dibon.
It also included all the cities of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, up to the border of the Ammonites.
Additionally, it included Gilead, the territory of the Geshurites and Maachathites, all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salcah.
This encompassed the entire kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei, and was the last of the Rephaim. Moses defeated them and dispossessed them.
However, the Israelites did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maachathites. So Geshur and Maachath continue to live among the Israelites to this day.
But to the tribe of Levi, Moses gave no inheritance, for the offerings made by fire to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as He promised.
Moses gave to the tribe of the Reubenites, according to their clans:
Their territory extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, including the city in the middle of the valley, and the entire plateau near Medeba.
Heshbon and all its cities on the plain, including Dibon, Bamoth Baal, and Beth Baal Meon.
Also, Jahaz, Kedemoth, and Mephaath,
as well as Kiriathaim, Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley,
Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth.
All the cities on the plateau and the entire kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon. Moses defeated him along with the princes of Midian—Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—who were rulers allied with Sihon and lived in the land.
In addition to those slain, the Israelites also killed Balaam son of Beor, the diviner, with the sword.
The territory of the Reubenites was the Jordan and its surrounding land. This was the inheritance of the tribe of Reuben, according to their clans—the cities and their villages.
Similarly, Moses gave to the tribe of Gad, to the descendants of Gad according to their clans:
Their territory included Jazer, all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites as far as Aroer, which is near Rabbah.
From Heshbon to Ramath Mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the boundary of Debir.
In the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon—the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, along with the Jordan and its boundary, reaching as far as the edge of the Sea of Kinnereth on the eastern side of the Jordan.
This was the inheritance of the tribe of Gad, according to their clans—the cities and their villages.
Moses also gave an inheritance to half the tribe of Manasseh, and this was allotted to the half-tribe according to their clans:
Their territory extended from Mahanaim and included all of Bashan, the entire kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the settlements of Jair in Bashan—sixty towns.
It also included half of Gilead, as well as Ashtaroth and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan. This was for the descendants of Machir son of Manasseh—for half the descendants of Machir, according to their clans.
