  • Matt 17:14-20 : 14 When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before Him. 15 and said, 'Lord, have mercy on my son. He has seizures and suffers terribly. He often falls into the fire and into the water.' 16 I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not heal him. 17 Then Jesus answered, 'O unbelieving and perverse generation, how long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.' 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed from that moment. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked, 'Why couldn’t we drive it out?' 20 He replied, 'Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.'
  • Mark 9:14-29 : 14 When they came to the disciples, they saw a large crowd around them, and the scribes arguing with them. 15 As soon as the crowd saw Jesus, they were amazed and ran to greet him. 16 And he asked the scribes, 'What are you discussing with them?' 17 One of the crowd answered him, 'Teacher, I brought my son to you. He has a mute spirit. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him down. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to cast it out, but they couldn’t. 19 Jesus replied, 'O unbelieving generation, how long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him to me.' 20 They brought the boy to him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into convulsions. He fell to the ground, rolled around, and foamed at the mouth. 21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, 'How long has this been happening to him?' He replied, 'Since childhood. 22 It has often thrown him into fire and water to destroy him. But if you can do anything, please have compassion on us and help us.' 23 Jesus said to him, 'If you can? Everything is possible for the one who believes. 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out, 'I believe! Help my unbelief!' 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was gathering, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying, 'You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again!' 26 The spirit cried out, convulsed him violently, and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, 'He is dead.' 27 But Jesus took him by the hand, lifted him up, and he stood. 28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, 'Why couldn’t we drive it out?' 29 He replied, 'This kind can only come out by prayer and fasting.'
