4For whatever things were written in the past were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
9But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner.
1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
3Remembering constantly your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the presence of God our Father;
13Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully on the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
7And our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you be also of the consolation.
26And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
26How is it then, brethren? When you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.
11And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,
13For we write no other things to you than what you read or acknowledge; and I trust you shall acknowledge even to the end;
14Now we exhort you, brothers, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
8Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things.
5But be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
