Then Solomon said, The LORD has said that he would dwell in thick darkness.

3 And the LORD said to him, I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before Me: I have hallowed this house, which you have built, to put My name there forever; and My eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually.
27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built?
12 And he made darkness canopies around him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.
11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion around him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
1 Now when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

7 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
8 But the LORD said to David my father, Because it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well in that it was in your heart:
3 So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD, Shall you build me a house for me to dwell in?
6 Since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, I have not dwelt in any house, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
11 And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.
1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared to David his father, in the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
8 And they dwelt in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying,
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
6 And he said to me, Solomon your son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
1 Furthermore, King David said to all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
7 Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment, and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.
8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of Your house and the place where Your honor dwells.
12 Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of the LORD, which he had built before the porch,
7 And he set up the carved image of the Asherah he had made, in the house of which the LORD said to David and to Solomon his son, 'In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever:'
5 And behold, I plan to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build a house for my name.
16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it gross darkness.
10 Take heed now; for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the buildings thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner rooms thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
22 He reveals deep and secret things: he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.
19 Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And as for darkness, where is its place,
5 For I have not lived in a house since the day I brought up Israel to this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
