5 As also the high priest bears me witness, and all the council of the elders, from whom I also received letters to the brothers, and went to Damascus to bring those who were there bound to Jerusalem, to be punished.
6 And it happened, that as I made my journey and was near Damascus around noon, suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me.

16 But rise, and stand upon your feet: for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of these things which you have seen, and of those things in which I will appear to you;
13 Came to me, and stood, and said to me, Brother Saul, receive your sight. And at that very moment, I looked up at him.
14 And he said, The God of our fathers has chosen you, that you should know his will and see that Righteous One, and should hear the voice of his mouth.
15 For you shall be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.
17 And it happened, when I returned to Jerusalem, and while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance,
18 And saw him saying to me, Make haste and get quickly out of Jerusalem, for they will not receive your testimony concerning me.
19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in you.
20 And when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, consenting to his death, and kept the clothes of those who killed him.
21 And he said to me, Depart, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.
26 And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple.
27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
21 But all who heard him were amazed, and said, Isn't this he who destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and has come here for that purpose, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?
6 For he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid.
7 And a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son; hear him.
8 And immediately, when they looked around, they saw no one anymore, only Jesus with themselves.
