14Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves, let us enter into the fortified cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God has put us to silence, and given us bitter water to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
3And their nobles have sent their little ones to the water; they came to the wells and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.

8Be instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from you; lest I make you desolate, a land not inhabited.

17For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, You shall eat no bread nor drink water there, nor return to go by the way that you came.
19Therefore thus says the LORD, If you return, then I will bring you again, and you shall stand before me: and if you take forth the precious from the vile, you shall be as my mouth: let them return to you; but return not you to them.
