9 For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, so that they would not go into the land which the LORD had given them.

7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to spy out the land, and I brought him word again as it was in my heart.
36 And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,
37 Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.
39 And Moses told these sayings to all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.
7 For the LORD your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;
35 Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see that good land, which I swore to give to your fathers,
36 Except Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him and his children I will give the land he has trodden upon, because he has fully followed the LORD.
6 For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people who were men of war, who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not obey the voice of the LORD, to whom the LORD swore that He would not show them the land which the LORD had sworn to their fathers that He would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
30 And Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.
7 Turn, and take your journey, and go to the mountain of the Amorites, and to all the places near there, in the plain, in the hills, and in the valley, and in the south, and by the sea, to the land of the Canaanites, and to Lebanon, to the great river, the river Euphrates.
8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to them and to their descendants after them.
30 Surely you shall not come into the land, concerning which I swore to make you dwell therein, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
31 But your little ones, which you said would be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which you have despised.
9 And that you may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD swore to your fathers to give to them and to their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.
5 Therefore, they said, if we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession, and do not bring us over the Jordan.

19 And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which you saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh Barnea.
39 Moreover your little ones, whom you said would be prey, and your children, who today have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.
