21For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I do not know.
23For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better;
12I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
14But God forbid that I should boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.

12But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel;
13So that my chains in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;
24Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of his body, which is the church:
27But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest when I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
10Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
24But none of these things move me, nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
30Having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear to be in me.
12For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that day.
