35Once and for all I have vowed by my own holiness, I will never deceive David.
25So now, O LORD God, make this promise you have made about your servant and his family a permanent reality. Do as you promised,
26so you may gain lasting fame, as people say,‘The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is God over Israel!’ The dynasty of your servant David will be established before you,
4and the LORD will fulfill his promise to me,‘If your descendants watch their step and live faithfully in my presence with all their heart and being, then,’ he promised,‘you will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’
12However, for your father David’s sake I will not do this while you are alive. I will tear it away from your son’s hand instead.
16David said to him,“Your blood be on your own head! Your own mouth has testified against you, saying‘I have put the LORD’s anointed to death.’”
18What more can David say to you? You have honored your servant; you have given your servant special recognition.
19O LORD, for the sake of your servant and according to your will, you have done this great thing in order to reveal your greatness.
50He gives his king magnificent victories; he is faithful to his chosen ruler, to David and his descendants forever.”
20I have discovered David, my servant. With my holy oil I have anointed him as king.

51Your enemies, O LORD, hurl insults; they insult your chosen king as they dog his footsteps.
14Then the king turned around and pronounced a blessing over the whole Israelite assembly as they stood there.
21For the sake of your promise and according to your purpose you have done this great thing in order to reveal it to your servant.
18Then I will establish your dynasty, just as I promised your father David,‘You will not fail to have a successor ruling over Israel.’

4Nevertheless for David’s sake the LORD his God maintained his dynasty in Jerusalem by giving him a son to succeed him and by protecting Jerusalem.
