4 So that we ourselves boast of you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure:
5 Which is a clear sign of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer:
6 In which you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen you love; in whom, though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces patience;
1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart;
4 Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
6 And if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer; or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
7 And our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you be also of the consolation.
8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed beyond measure, above strength, so much that we despaired even of life.
1 For we know that if our earthly body, this tabernacle, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our dwelling which is from heaven:
10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels.
11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remains is glorious.
12 And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure it.
10 But the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
13 Therefore I ask that you not faint at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
