And David sent and spoke with Abigail, to take her to him as a wife. 40 And when the servants of David came to Abigail at Carmel, they spoke to her, saying, David sent us to you, to take you to him as a wife. 41 And she arose and bowed herself with her face to the ground, and said, Behold, let your maidservant be a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord. 42 And Abigail hurried and arose, and rode on a donkey, with five maids accompanying her; so she followed the messengers of David, and became his wife. 43 David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel; and so both of them were his wives. 44 But Saul had given Michal, his daughter, David's wife, to Palti, the son of Laish, who was from Gallim.
