  • Josh 24:15-22 : 15 But if it seems undesirable to you to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve—whether the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD. 16 The people replied, "Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods! 17 For the LORD our God is the one who brought us and our ancestors up out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. He performed great signs before our eyes, protected us along the entire way we traveled, and among all the peoples through whom we journeyed. 18 The LORD drove out all the peoples before us, including the Amorites who lived in the land. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. 17 Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me. 18 When Naomi saw that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped trying to persuade her.
