17Then the king ordered the guards standing by him, 'Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because they are allies of David. They knew he was fleeing but didn’t inform me.' But the king's servants were unwilling to raise their hands to strike the priests of the Lord.
10Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying:
26But Samuel replied to Saul, 'I will not go back with you, because you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.'
1The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem, for I have chosen a king for myself among his sons."
5When the kingdom was firmly in his control, he executed the officials who had assassinated his father the king.
4David said to him, 'What happened? Tell me.' He answered, 'The people fled from the battle, and many fell and died. Saul and Jonathan, his son, are also dead.'

10David also said, "As surely as the LORD lives, the LORD Himself will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he will go down into battle and perish.

41Then Saul prayed to the Lord, the God of Israel: 'Give a perfect lot.' Jonathan and Saul were taken by lot, and the people were cleared.
