  • Exod 9:18-25 : 18 Therefore, at this time tomorrow I will send the worst hailstorm that has ever fallen on Egypt since it became a nation. 19 Give an order now to bring your livestock and everything you have in the field to a place of shelter, because the hail will fall on every person and animal that has not been brought in and is still out in the field, and they will die. 20 Those officials of Pharaoh who feared the word of the Lord hurried to bring their slaves and their livestock inside. 21 But those who ignored the word of the Lord left their slaves and livestock in the field. 22 Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that hail will fall all over Egypt—on people and animals and on everything growing in the fields of Egypt.' 23 When Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, the Lord sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed down to the ground. So the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt. 24 Hail fell and lightning flashed back and forth. It was the worst storm in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation. 25 Throughout Egypt hail struck everything in the fields—both people and animals; it beat down everything growing in the fields and stripped every tree.

Do not touch anything that belongs to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins." 27 So they moved away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram. Dathan and Abiram had come out and were standing with their wives, children, and little ones at the entrances to their tents. 28 Then Moses said, "This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things and that it was not my own idea: 29 If these men die a natural death and experience only what usually happens to men, then the Lord has not sent me. 30 But if the Lord brings about something unprecedented and the ground opens its mouth to swallow them and everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the grave, then you will know that these men have treated the Lord with contempt. 31 As soon as he finished speaking all these words, the ground beneath them split apart. 32 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households, along with all of Korah's men and all their possessions. 33 They went down alive into the grave, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished from the community. 34 All the Israelites around them ran away at their cries, saying, 'The earth might swallow us too!' 35 Then fire came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men who were offering incense.

And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to people, but to God.' 5 When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear came upon all who heard about it. 6 The young men arose, wrapped his body, carried him out, and buried him. 7 About three hours later, his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 Peter asked her, 'Tell me, is this the price you and your husband got for the land?' She answered, 'Yes, that is the price.' 9 Then Peter said to her, 'Why did you agree together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen!
