13Then Solomon returned from the high place at Gibeon, from before the tent of meeting, to Jerusalem, and he reigned over Israel.
12Then the LORD appeared to Solomon at night and said to him: "I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
9So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between good and evil, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?
10The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked this.
11God said to him, "Since you have asked for this and not for long life, wealth for yourself, or the death of your enemies, but for discernment in administering justice,
12behold, I have done what you asked. I have given you a wise and discerning heart, so that there has never been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.
13I have also given you what you did not ask for: both wealth and honor, so that in your lifetime no king will compare to you.
14If you walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and commandments as your father David did, then I will prolong your days.
15Then Solomon awoke, and it was a dream. He came to Jerusalem, stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and held a feast for all his servants.
4The king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there because it was the most prominent high place. Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.
6Solomon replied, "You have shown great lovingkindness to your servant, my father David, because he walked before you in faithfulness, righteousness, and uprightness of heart. You have continued this great kindness to him by giving him a son to sit on his throne this day."
7Now, LORD my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David, but I am only a young and inexperienced servant who does not know how to carry out his duties.
1When Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD, the royal palace, and everything he desired to accomplish,
2the LORD appeared to Solomon a second time, just as He had appeared to him at Gibeon.
3The LORD said to him, 'I have heard your prayer and your plea that you made before Me. I have consecrated this temple you have built by putting My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will always be there.'
11Then the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying:
15In a dream, a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while they slumber on their beds,
23All the kings of the earth sought an audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.
47The king's servants have also come to bless our lord King David, saying, 'May your God make Solomon's name more famous than yours and his throne greater than yours!' And the king bowed on his bed in worship.
16'Now I have one request to make of you; do not refuse me.' And she said, 'Speak.'
17He continued, 'Please ask King Solomon—he will not refuse you—to give me Abishag the Shunammite as my wife.'
16Bathsheba bowed low and paid homage to the king. The king asked her, "What is it you want?"
19And give my son Solomon an undivided heart to keep your commandments, your statutes, and your decrees, and to carry out all these plans, building the temple for which I have made preparations.
2Solomon's daily provisions were thirty measures of the finest flour and sixty measures of regular flour.
10"Go and tell David, ‘This is what the LORD says: I am giving you three options. Choose one of them for Me to carry out against you.’"
20She said, 'I have one small request to make of you. Do not refuse me.' The king replied, 'Ask, my mother, for I will not refuse you.'
24The whole world sought an audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom that God had put in his heart.
3But that same night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
2Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the commanders of thousands and hundreds, to the judges, and to all the leaders and heads of fathers’ households throughout Israel.
3Then Solomon and the whole assembly went to the high place at Gibeon, because God's tent of meeting, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, had made in the wilderness, was there.
12"Now go, please, let me advise you so that you may save your own life and the life of your son Solomon.
6Then he called for his son Solomon and instructed him to build a house for the Lord, the God of Israel.
3Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing too difficult for the king to explain to her.
20Now, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, to tell them who will sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
3The king said to them, "I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit is troubled to understand the dream."
22Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven.
23He said: 'LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth below—keeping Your covenant and showing steadfast love to Your servants who walk before You with all their heart.'
1Then Solomon began building the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
12He spoke three thousand proverbs and composed one thousand five songs.
25The LORD greatly exalted Solomon in the sight of all Israel, and gave him royal majesty greater than that of any king before him in Israel.
13For Solomon had made a bronze platform, placing it in the middle of the courtyard. It was five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high. He stood on it, knelt on his knees before the entire assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven.
13King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and asked for, in addition to what he had already given her out of his royal bounty. Then she left and returned to her own land with her attendants.
7These officers provided food for King Solomon and all who came to his table, each during his assigned month, without fail.
4But that same night the word of the LORD came to Nathan,
