    2 Command Aaron and his sons, saying: This is the law of the burnt offering. The burnt offering shall remain on the hearth of the altar all night until morning, and the fire on the altar must be kept burning.

    3 The priest shall put on his linen garment and wear linen undergarments on his body. He shall remove the ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed on the altar and place them beside the altar.

    4 Then he shall take off his garments and put on other garments and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place.

    5 The fire on the altar shall be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest shall add wood to it, arrange the burnt offering on it, and burn the fatty portions of the peace offerings on it.

  • 39 then hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications. Uphold their cause and forgive Your people who have sinned against You.

  • 9 'If disaster comes upon us—whether the sword, judgment, plague, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in your presence (for your name is in this temple) and cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.'

  • 8 But if the person has no close relative to whom the restitution can be made, the restitution belongs to the Lord and must be given to the priest, along with the ram of atonement to make atonement for the guilt.
