    26'Surely I saw the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons yesterday, declares the LORD, and I will repay you in this plot of land, declares the LORD. Now then, throw him on that plot of land, just as the word of the LORD declared.'

    27When Ahaziah king of Judah saw this, he fled along the road to Beth-haggan. Jehu pursued him, shouting, 'Shoot him too!' They struck him in his chariot on the way up to Gur near Ibleam, but he fled to Megiddo and died there.

    28His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him with his ancestors in his tomb in the City of David.

    19The king sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said, 'This is what the king says: Do you come in peace?' Jehu answered, 'What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me.'

    20The watchman reported, 'He has reached them, but he has not returned. The driving is like that of Jehu son of Nimshi—he drives furiously!'

    21Joram ordered, 'Hitch up my chariot.' When it was hitched up, Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his own chariot, to meet Jehu. They found him on the plot of land that had belonged to Naboth the Jezreelite.

    22When Joram saw Jehu, he asked, 'Do you come in peace, Jehu?' Jehu replied, 'How can there be peace as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?'

    23Joram turned around and fled, calling out to Ahaziah, 'Treachery, Ahaziah!'

    5Following their counsel, he went with Jehoram son of Ahab, king of Israel, to fight against Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-Gilead, where the Arameans wounded Jehoram.

    6Jehoram returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he received at Ramoth while fighting against Hazael, king of Aram. Then Azariah (also called Ahaziah), son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to visit Jehoram, son of Ahab, in Jezreel because he was wounded.

    7Ahaziah’s downfall came from God, for when he went to Jehoram, he joined him in meeting Jehu, son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.

    8While Jehu was carrying out judgment on the house of Ahab, he found the officials of Judah and the relatives of Ahaziah, who were serving him, and he killed them.

    9Jehu then searched for Ahaziah, and they captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. They brought him to Jehu and put him to death. However, they buried him, for they said, 'He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with all his heart.' And there was no one in Ahaziah’s family strong enough to retain the kingdom.

    24So they entered to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Meanwhile, Jehu had stationed eighty men outside and warned them, "If any man lets one of the men I am handing over to you escape, it will be his life for theirs."

    25When Jehu finished offering the burnt offering, he said to the guards and officers, "Go in and kill them; let no one escape." The guards and officers struck them down with the sword, threw the bodies out, and went into the inner sanctuary of the temple of Baal.

    18Then Elisha said, 'Take the arrows.' So he took them. Elisha told the king of Israel, 'Strike the ground.' He struck the ground three times and stopped.

    35Jehu rested with his ancestors and was buried in Samaria. And his son Jehoahaz succeeded him as king.

    30The LORD said to Jehu, "Because you have done well in executing what is right in my eyes and have carried out all that was in My heart against the house of Ahab, your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation."

    31But Jehu did not walk in the law of the LORD, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He did not turn from the sins that Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit.
