  • 1 Cor 13:1-9 : 1 If I speak in the tongues of people and of angels, but do not have love, I am like a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give everything I have to the poor and surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became an adult, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.
  • Eph 1:4 : 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence in love.

  • Col 2:2 : 2 I do this so that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and that they may have all the riches of full assurance of understanding, which leads to the full knowledge of God's mystery—Christ himself.
  • 1 Thess 4:9 : 9 Now concerning brotherly love, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.
  • Heb 6:1 : 1 Therefore, leaving behind the elementary teachings about Christ, let us move on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and faith in God,
  • 2 Pet 1:7 : 7 to godliness, brotherly love; and to brotherly love, love.
  • 1 John 3:23 : 23 Now this is His commandment: that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as He commanded us.
  • 1 John 4:7-9 : 7 Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 By this, the love of God was revealed among us: that God sent His only Son into the world so that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us.
