  • Isa 24:1-9 : 1 Behold, the Lord lays the earth waste, devastates it, distorts its surface, and scatters its inhabitants. 2 It will be the same for the people as for the priest, the servant as for his master, the maid as for her mistress, the buyer as for the seller, the lender as for the borrower, the creditor as for the debtor. 3 The earth will be utterly laid waste and completely plundered, for the Lord has spoken this word. 4 The earth mourns and withers; the world fades and withers; the exalted of the earth languish. 5 The earth is defiled by its inhabitants, for they have transgressed laws, violated statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and its inhabitants bear the guilt. Therefore, the earth’s inhabitants are burned, and few people are left. 7 The new wine dries up, the vine withers, and all the merry-hearted groan. 8 The joy of tambourines ceases, the noise of revelers stops, and the joyful sound of the harp is silenced. 9 They no longer drink wine with song; strong drink is bitter to those who drink it. 10 The city of chaos is shattered; every house is shut up so no one may enter. 11 In the streets, there is an outcry over the wine; all joy turns dark, and the gladness of the earth departs. 12 Only desolation is left in the city; the gate is battered into ruins. 13 So it will be in the midst of the earth among the nations, like the shaking of an olive tree, as gleanings after the grape harvest is over. 14 They raise their voices, they sing for joy; from the west they shout over the majesty of the Lord. 15 Therefore, glorify the Lord in the east, and in the coastlands of the sea glorify the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. 16 From the ends of the earth, we hear songs: 'Glory to the Righteous One.' But I said, 'I perish, I perish, woe to me! The treacherous betray, with treachery the treacherous betray.' 17 Terror, pit, and snare confront you, O inhabitant of the earth. 18 Whoever flees at the sound of terror will fall into the pit, and whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in the snare; for the floodgates of the heavens are opened, and the foundations of the earth shake. 19 The earth is utterly broken, the earth is split apart, the earth is violently shaken. 20 The earth staggers like a drunkard, it sways like a hut; its transgression lies heavy upon it, and it falls, never to rise again. 21 On that day, the Lord will punish the host of the heavens above and the kings of the earth below. 22 They will be gathered together like prisoners in a pit; they will be shut in a dungeon, and after many days they will be punished. 23 Then the moon will be abashed and the sun ashamed, for the Lord of Hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before His elders will be His glory.

  • Isa 30:27-30 : 27 Behold, the name of the LORD comes from afar, burning with anger and dense with smoke; his lips are full of wrath, and his tongue is like a consuming fire. 28 His breath is like a rushing torrent that rises to the neck. He will sift the nations with the sieve of destruction, and place a bridle in the jaws of the peoples, leading them astray. 29 You will sing as on the night of a sacred festival; your hearts will rejoice as when people go up with flutes to the mountain of the LORD, to the Rock of Israel. 30 The LORD will cause his majestic voice to be heard and will display the strength of his arm with furious anger and consuming fire, with a cloudburst, storm, and hailstones.
  • Jer 25:15-29 : 15 This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, said to me: 'Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.' 16 They will drink, stagger, and act like madmen because of the sword I am sending among them. 17 So I took the cup from the LORD’s hand and made all the nations to whom he sent me drink it. 18 Jerusalem, the towns of Judah, its kings, and officials, to make them a ruin, a desolation, an object of hissing and cursing, as they are today. 19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, his officials, his leaders, and all his people. 20 All the mixed peoples and all the kings of the land of Uz; all the kings of the Philistine cities: Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod. 21 Edom, Moab, and the sons of Ammon. 22 All the kings of Tyre and all the kings of Sidon; the kings of the coastlands across the sea. 23 Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who clip the corners of their hair. 24 All the kings of Arabia and the kings of the mixed peoples who live in the desert. 25 All the kings of Zimri, Elam, and Media. 26 And all the kings of the north, near and far, one after another—all the kingdoms on the face of the earth. And after them, the king of Sheshach will drink. 27 Then say to them: This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: 'Drink, get drunk, and vomit; fall and do not rise, because of the sword I am sending among you.' 28 If they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, tell them, 'This is what the LORD of Hosts says: You must drink it!' 29 For behold, I am bringing disaster on the city that bears my name, and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth, declares the LORD of Hosts.

Let all the fighting men draw near and advance. 10 Hammer your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong!’ 11 Hasten and come, all you nations from every side, and gather yourselves there. Bring down, LORD, your mighty ones. 12 Let the nations be aroused; let them advance to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. 13 Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread the grapes, for the winepress is full and the vats overflow—because their wickedness is great. 14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

The Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries and reserves wrath for his enemies. 3 The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; he will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet. 4 He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither, and the blossoms of Lebanon fade. 5 The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. Each will seize the hand of his neighbor, and they will attack one another. 14 Even Judah will fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations—gold, silver, and clothing—will be gathered in great abundance. 15 A similar plague will strike the horses, mules, camels, donkeys, and all the animals in the camps. 16 Then all who survive from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord of Hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths.

  • Rev 6:12-17 : 12 And I watched as the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became black like sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon turned red like blood. 13 The stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its unripe figs when shaken by a strong wind. 14 The sky receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place. 15 The kings of the earth, the nobles, the wealthy, the military commanders, the mighty, and everyone—slave and free—hid themselves in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 And they said to the mountains and the rocks, 'Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!' 17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?
  • Rev 14:15-20 : 15 Another angel came out of the temple, calling in a loud voice to the one who was seated on the cloud, "Swing your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe." 16 So the one seated on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested. 17 Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. 18 Still another angel, who had authority over the fire, came out from the altar and called with a loud voice to the one holding the sharp sickle, "Swing your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth's vine, because its grapes are ripe." 19 So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and gathered its grapes, and he threw them into the great winepress of God's wrath. 20 They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses' bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.
  • Rev 19:15-21 : 15 Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh: King of Kings and Lord of Lords. 17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out in a loud voice to all the birds flying high overhead: 'Come, gather for the great supper of God,' 18 'that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.' 19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and His army. 20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the signs on his behalf. By these signs he had deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulfur. 21 The rest were killed by the sword that proceeded from the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
