12On all the barren heights in the wilderness, destroyers have come. For the sword of the LORD is devouring from one end of the land to the other; no flesh has peace.
9I am about to send for all the clans of the north,' declares the LORD, 'and for my servant Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and I will bring them against this land, its inhabitants, and all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them, making them an object of horror, scorn, and perpetual ruins.
9Then I said, 'I will not shepherd you any longer. Let the dying die, and let the perishing perish. Let those who are left eat one another’s flesh.'
15Therefore, this is what the LORD says about the prophets who prophesy in My name, though I did not send them, and who declare, 'No sword or famine will touch this land': By sword and famine, those prophets will meet their end.
16And the people to whom they are prophesying will be thrown into the streets of Jerusalem because of famine and sword. There will be no one to bury them—them, their wives, their sons, or their daughters. I will pour out their wickedness upon them.
12One third of you will die by plague or be consumed by famine within you. Another third will fall by the sword around you, and the final third I will scatter to every wind and pursue with a drawn sword.
16For behold, I am raising up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those being destroyed, seek the young, heal the injured, or feed the healthy, but will eat the meat of the fat sheep and tear off their hooves.'
37I will shatter Elam before their enemies and before those who seek their lives. I will bring disaster upon them, my fierce anger, declares the LORD. I will send the sword after them until I have finished them off.
6For I will no longer show pity to the people of the land,' declares the LORD. 'I will give everyone into the hands of their neighbors and their king. They will crush the land, and I will not deliver them from their power.'
4I will leave you on the land, hurl you onto the open field. I will make all the birds of the heavens settle on you, and the wild beasts of the earth will feast on you.
