Then all the men who knew that their wives were burning incense to other gods answered Jeremiah, along with all the women standing there in a large assembly, and all the people living in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, saying:

26 But hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah living in Egypt: ‘I have sworn by my great name,’ says the LORD, ‘that no one from Judah living in Egypt will ever again invoke my name or swear, “As surely as the Lord GOD lives.”
16 The word you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you.
17 Instead, we will do everything we promised: we will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, just as we, our ancestors, our kings, and our officials did in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem. At that time, we had plenty of food, prospered, and experienced no disaster.
18 But since we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by sword and famine.
19 And when we burned incense to the Queen of Heaven and poured drink offerings to her, did we do it without our husbands’ approval? Were they not with us when we made cakes shaped like her and poured drink offerings to her?
20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, both the men and the women, who had given him this answer:
21 Does the burning of incense you, your ancestors, your kings, your officials, and the people of the land did in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem not remain in the LORD's memory and come to his attention?
1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews living in the land of Egypt, those residing in Migdol, Tahpanhes, Noph, and the land of Pathros, saying:
2 Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen all the disaster I brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah. Look, they are a ruin today, without anyone living there.
3 This happened because of their wickedness in provoking me to anger by burning incense and worshiping other gods—gods they, you, and your ancestors did not know.
7 Now therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel: Why are you doing such great harm to yourselves, cutting off from Judah man, woman, child, and infant, leaving yourselves without any remnant?
8 You provoke me to anger with the works of your hands by burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, where you have come to live, so as to destroy yourselves and make yourselves a curse and a disgrace among all the nations of the earth.
9 Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
12 I will take the remnant of Judah who were determined to go to the land of Egypt to live there, and they will all meet their end in the land of Egypt. They will fall by the sword and perish by famine. From the least to the greatest, they will die by the sword and famine. They will become an object of cursing and astonishment, a curse and a reproach.
13 And I will punish those who live in the land of Egypt as I punished Jerusalem, with the sword, famine, and pestilence.
14 None of the remnant of Judah who have come to live as foreigners in the land of Egypt will escape or survive to return to the land of Judah. They are longing to return to live there, but none will return except a few fugitives.
17 Do you not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
18 The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough to make cakes for the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods, provoking me to anger.
1 When Jeremiah finished speaking to all the people all the words of the LORD their God, which the LORD their God had sent him to say to them, this is what happened.
2 Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, 'You are lying! The LORD our God did not send you to say, ‘Do not go to Egypt to settle there.’
15 Now therefore hear the word of the LORD, remnant of Judah. This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: If you are determined to go to Egypt and settle there,
13 The houses in Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will become defiled like this place, Topheth—all the houses where they burned incense on their roofs to all the starry hosts and poured out drink offerings to other gods.
14 Jeremiah then returned from Topheth, where the LORD had sent him to prophesy, and he stood in the court of the LORD’s temple and said to all the people:
5 But they did not listen or incline their ears to turn from their wickedness and to stop burning incense to other gods.

41 They will burn down your houses and execute judgment on you in the sight of many women. I will bring an end to your prostitution, and you will no longer pay fees to anyone.
17 All who are determined to go to Egypt to settle there will die by the sword, famine, and plague. Not one of them will survive or escape the disaster I will bring upon them.
18 This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: As my anger and wrath were poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so too will my wrath be poured out on you when you go to Egypt. You will become an object of cursing, horror, condemnation, and disgrace, and you will never see this place again.
19 The LORD has spoken to you, remnant of Judah: Do not go to Egypt. Be certain of this: I have warned you today.
1 Shephatiah son of Mattan, Gedaliah son of Pashhur, Jucal son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur son of Malchiah heard the words Jeremiah was speaking to all the people:
25 Because they have abandoned Me and burned incense to other gods, provoking Me to anger with all the works of their hands, My wrath will be poured out on this place, and it will not be quenched.'
1 Then all the military leaders, Johanan son of Kareah, Jezaniah son of Hoshaiah, and all the people, from the least to the greatest, approached.
23 They will also bring out all your wives and your children to the Babylonians. You yourself will not escape from their hands but will be captured by the king of Babylon, and this city will be burned down."
28 Those who escape the sword and return from Egypt to the land of Judah will be very few. Then all the remnant of Judah who came to live in Egypt will know whose word will stand—mine or theirs.
9 'Why have you prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, “This house will become like Shiloh, and this city will be desolate, without inhabitants”?' And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the LORD's house.
26 You engaged in prostitution with your lustful neighbors, the Egyptians, and multiplied your acts of prostitution to anger me.
4 Jeremiah the prophet said to them, "I have heard you. I will indeed pray to the LORD your God according to your words, and every word the LORD answers you, I will tell you—I will not withhold a single word from you."
5 They said to Jeremiah, "May the LORD be a true and faithful witness against us if we do not act according to every word the LORD your God sends you to tell us.
7 And the priests, the prophets, and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.
