  • Job 36:23 : 23 Who has appointed His path for Him, or who can say, 'You have done wrong'?
  • Job 38:4-9 : 4 Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. 5 Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the measuring line across it? 6 On what were its foundations set, or who laid its cornerstone? 7 While the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? 8 Or who enclosed the sea with doors when it burst forth from the womb, 9 when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, 10 when I set its boundary and placed bars and doors on it, 11 and said, 'This far you may come, but no farther; here is where your proud waves must halt.' 12 Have you ever commanded the morning or shown the dawn its place, 13 that it might take hold of the edges of the earth and shake the wicked out of it? 14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like a garment. 15 The light is withheld from the wicked, and the uplifted arm is broken. 16 Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep? 17 Have the gates of death been shown to you? Have you seen the gates of deepest darkness? 18 Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth? Tell me, if you know all this. 19 Where is the way that light dwells, and where is the place of darkness, 20 that you may take it to its boundary and recognize the paths to its home? 21 Surely you know, since you were already born, and the number of your days is great! 22 Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail, 23 which I have reserved for a time of trouble, for the day of battle and war? 24 What is the way to the place where the light is divided, or the east wind scattered over the earth? 25 Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain and a path for the thunderstorm, 26 to water a land where no man lives, an uninhabited desert, 27 to satisfy the desolate and waste ground and make the dry, barren land produce grass? 28 Does the rain have a father, or who gives birth to the dew drops? 29 From whose womb does the ice come forth? Who gives birth to the frost of the heavens, 30 when the waters become hard as stone and the surface of the deep is frozen? 31 Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades or loosen the cords of Orion? 32 Can you bring out the constellations in their seasons or lead out the Great Bear with its cubs? 33 Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up their dominion over the earth? 34 Can you raise your voice to the clouds and cover yourself with a flood of water? 35 Can you send forth lightning bolts and have them go? Do they report to you, 'Here we are'? 36 Who has put wisdom in the inward parts or given understanding to the mind? 37 Who can count the clouds with wisdom or tilt the water jars of the heavens, 38 when the dust becomes hard as metal and the clods of earth stick together? 39 Can you hunt prey for the lion or satisfy the hunger of young lions, 40 when they crouch in their dens or lie in wait in the thicket? 41 Who provides food for the raven when its young cry out to God and wander about without food?
  • Job 40:8-9 : 8 Would you indeed annul My justice? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified? 9 Do you have an arm like God's, and can your voice thunder like His? 10 Adorn yourself with majesty and dignity; clothe yourself with glory and splendor. 11 Scatter the outbursts of your anger, and look at every proud one and bring him low.
  • Prov 8:23-30 : 23 From eternity I was established, from the beginning, before the origins of the earth. 24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no springs heavy with water. 25 Before the mountains were shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth. 26 Before He made the earth, the fields, or the first dust of the world. 27 When He established the heavens, I was there; when He marked out the horizon on the face of the deep. 28 When He strengthened the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong. 29 When He set the boundary for the sea so the waters would not overstep His command, and when He marked out the foundations of the earth. 30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman, delighting day by day, rejoicing always in His presence.
  • Isa 40:13-14 : 13 Who can fathom the Spirit of the Lord, or instruct the Lord as his counselor? 14 Whom did He consult, and who gave Him understanding? Who taught Him the path of justice, or showed Him knowledge, or instructed Him in the way of understanding?
  • Rom 11:34-36 : 34 Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? 35 Or who has ever given to Him that God should repay them? 36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
