12 Now then, select twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one man from each tribe.

1 Joshua rose early in the morning, and he and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and came to the Jordan. They stayed there before crossing over.

7 The LORD said to Joshua, 'Today I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, so that they may know that just as I was with Moses, I will be with you.'
8 'And you are to command the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: When you reach the edge of the waters of the Jordan, stand in the Jordan.'
9 Joshua said to the Israelites, 'Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God.'
10 Joshua said, 'By this you will know that the living God is among you and that He will surely drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites.'
9 Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, under the place where the priests carrying the ark of the covenant stood, and they are there to this day.
10 The priests carrying the ark stood in the middle of the Jordan until everything was completed that the LORD commanded Joshua to tell the people, just as Moses had instructed Joshua. The people hurried and crossed over.
11 When all the people had completed crossing, the ark of the LORD and the priests also crossed over, in the sight of the people.

11 “Go through the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your provisions, for in three days you will cross the Jordan to take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving you to inherit.’”
5 and he said to them, “Cross ahead of the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take a stone on his shoulder, one for each of the tribes of the Israelites.
31 For you are about to cross the Jordan to enter and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you. You will take possession of it and live in it.
7 And he commanded the people, 'Advance and march around the city, with the armed men going ahead of the ark of the LORD.'
8 After Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets before the LORD went forward, blowing their trumpets, and the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD followed them.
3 The LORD your God himself will cross ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you shall take possession of them. Joshua will cross ahead of you, as the LORD has said.

17 So Joshua commanded the priests, saying, “Come up from the Jordan.”
18 When the priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD came up from the middle of the Jordan, and their feet touched dry ground, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and flowed over all its banks as they had before.
21 and all your armed men cross over the Jordan before the Lord until He has driven out His enemies from His presence—
22 You are to let your children know: 'Israel crossed the Jordan here on dry ground.'
23 For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed, just as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea when He dried it up before us until we had crossed over.
51 'Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
7 you shall tell them, ‘The waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD when it crossed the Jordan. The waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the Israelites forever.’”
11 So he had the Ark of the LORD carried around the city, circling it once. Then the people returned to camp and spent the night there.
12 Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests carried the Ark of the LORD.

28 ‘Charge Joshua and encourage him, for he will lead this people across and enable them to inherit the land that you will see.’
13 About forty thousand armed for battle crossed over before the LORD to the plains of Jericho, ready for war.
3 You have seen everything the LORD your God has done to all the nations before you, for the LORD your God is the one who fought for you.
18 At that time I commanded you: 'The LORD your God has given you this land to take possession of it. All your fighting men, fully armed, must cross over ahead of your fellow Israelites.'
33 So they set out from the mountain of the LORD and traveled for three days. During those three days, the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD went ahead of them to search out a resting place for them.
