20 And he rose up and went to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran, embraced him, and kissed him.

18 I will rise up and go to my father and say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.
28 What do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go work today in the vineyard.'
29 The son replied, 'I don’t want to.' But later, he changed his mind and went.
30 The man then went to the second son and said the same thing. He answered, 'I will, sir,' but he did not go.
2 So he called him and said, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you can no longer be manager.'
3 The manager said to himself, 'What shall I do, since my master is taking away my position? I am not strong enough to dig, and I am ashamed to beg.'
4 'I know what I will do so that, when I am removed from my position, people will welcome me into their homes.'
5 So he called in each one of his master's debtors. He asked the first, 'How much do you owe my master?'
18 Jacob went to his father and said, 'My father.' And Isaac said, 'Here I am. Who are you, my son?'
3 So He told them this parable, saying:
13 'But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven but beat his chest and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
26 At this the servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.'
7 Which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he comes in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?
8 Instead, won't he say to him, ‘Prepare my dinner, make yourself ready and serve me while I eat and drink; after that, you may eat and drink’?
27 He said, 'Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house,
32 Then the master summoned the servant and said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me to.'
7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then also an heir through God.
37 Finally, he sent his son to them. 'They will respect my son,' he said.
13 Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What should I do? I will send my beloved son. Perhaps they will respect him.'
29 His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will repay you.'
