Then my enemy will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, 'Where is the LORD your God?' My eyes will look upon her; now she will be trampled down like mud in the streets.

12"Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which was brought upon me, which the LORD inflicted on the day of his fierce anger.
4O Lord, my God, if I have done this, if there is injustice in my hands,
5if I have repaid my friend with evil or have plundered my enemy without cause,
16All your enemies open their mouths against you; they hiss and grind their teeth, saying, 'We have swallowed her up. Surely this is the day we hoped for; we have found it, we have seen it.'
17The LORD has done what he planned; he has fulfilled his word that he decreed long ago. He has overthrown without pity; he has let the enemy gloat over you and exalt the horn of your adversaries.
7May my enemy be like the wicked and my adversary like the unrighteous!
11But You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.
10I hear many whispering, 'Terror on every side! Report him! Let’s report him!' All my friends are waiting for me to slip, saying, 'Perhaps he will be deceived; then we will prevail over him and take our revenge on him.'
11But the LORD is with me like a mighty warrior; therefore, my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will be utterly disgraced, their dishonor will never be forgotten.
12O LORD of Hosts, you who test the righteous and see the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance upon them, for I have presented my case to you.
11But now many nations are gathered against you, saying, 'Let her be defiled, and let our eyes gloat over Zion.'
10She did not know that it was I who gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, and who lavished her with silver and gold, which they used for Baal.
21People have heard my groaning, but there is no one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that you have done it. Bring the day you have announced, so they may become like me.
11On that day, you will not be ashamed of all your deeds by which you rebelled against me. For then I will remove from your midst your proudly exultant ones, and you shall no longer be haughty on my holy mountain.
4'I will not look on you with pity or spare you. I will repay you for your conduct and your detestable practices among you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.'

17Zion stretches out her hands, but there is no one to comfort her. The LORD has decreed for Jacob that his neighbors become his foes; Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them.

5Behold, I am against you, declares the LORD of hosts. I will lift up your skirts over your face. I will show the nations your nakedness and the kingdoms your shame.
6I will throw filth on you, treat you with contempt, and make you a spectacle.
7Everyone who sees you will flee from you, saying, 'Nineveh is devastated! Who will mourn for her? Where can I find anyone to comfort you?'

10My strength, I watch for you; for God is my fortress.

7He will bring evil back upon my enemies; in Your faithfulness, destroy them.
19Behold, at that time I will deal with all your oppressors. I will save the lame and gather the scattered. I will make them a praise and a name in every land where they have suffered shame.
18May my persecutors be put to shame, but may I not be put to shame. May they be dismayed, but may I not be dismayed. Bring upon them the day of disaster; destroy them with double destruction.
8'I am about to pour out my wrath upon you and exhaust my anger against you. I will judge you according to your ways and bring upon you all your detestable practices.'
9'I will not look on you with pity or spare you. I will repay you according to your conduct and the detestable practices among you. Then you will know that it is I, the LORD, who strikes you.'
10But look, He finds faults against me; He considers me His enemy.
8I lie awake; I am like a lonely bird on a housetop.
6I will not show mercy to her children, for they are the children of unfaithfulness.
