The two thanksgiving choirs stood in the house of God. So did I and half of the officials with me.
And the priests—Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah—were with the trumpets.
Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer also joined in, while the singers sang loudly under the direction of Jezrahiah, their overseer.
On that day, they sacrificed great offerings and rejoiced, because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced, and the sound of Jerusalem's joy could be heard from afar.
On that day, men were appointed to oversee the storerooms for contributions, firstfruits, and tithes. They gathered the portions assigned for the priests and Levites from the fields around the towns, because Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who stood in service.
