    32We will cross over armed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, but the possession of our inheritance will be on this side of the Jordan."

    33Then Moses gave to the sons of Gad, the sons of Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan—the land with its cities and the territories surrounding them.

    14Your wives, your children, and your livestock may remain in the land that Moses gave you on the east side of the Jordan. But you, all your strong warriors, fully armed, must cross ahead of your brothers and help them.

    15Until the LORD gives your brothers rest, as He has given you, and they also take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving them, then you may return to the land of your possession and settle it—the land that Moses, the servant of the LORD, gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise.
