  • Josh 13:15-14:5 : 15 Moses gave to the tribe of the Reubenites, according to their clans: 16 Their territory extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, including the city in the middle of the valley, and the entire plateau near Medeba. 17 Heshbon and all its cities on the plain, including Dibon, Bamoth Baal, and Beth Baal Meon. 18 Also, Jahaz, Kedemoth, and Mephaath, 19 as well as Kiriathaim, Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley, 20 Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth. 21 All the cities on the plateau and the entire kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon. Moses defeated him along with the princes of Midian—Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—who were rulers allied with Sihon and lived in the land. 22 In addition to those slain, the Israelites also killed Balaam son of Beor, the diviner, with the sword. 23 The territory of the Reubenites was the Jordan and its surrounding land. This was the inheritance of the tribe of Reuben, according to their clans—the cities and their villages. 24 Similarly, Moses gave to the tribe of Gad, to the descendants of Gad according to their clans: 25 Their territory included Jazer, all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites as far as Aroer, which is near Rabbah. 26 From Heshbon to Ramath Mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the boundary of Debir. 27 In the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon—the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, along with the Jordan and its boundary, reaching as far as the edge of the Sea of Kinnereth on the eastern side of the Jordan. 28 This was the inheritance of the tribe of Gad, according to their clans—the cities and their villages. 29 Moses also gave an inheritance to half the tribe of Manasseh, and this was allotted to the half-tribe according to their clans: 30 Their territory extended from Mahanaim and included all of Bashan, the entire kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the settlements of Jair in Bashan—sixty towns. 31 It also included half of Gilead, as well as Ashtaroth and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan. This was for the descendants of Machir son of Manasseh—for half the descendants of Machir, according to their clans. 32 These are the portions of land that Moses distributed as inheritances on the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan east of Jericho. 33 However, Moses gave no inheritance to the tribe of Levi. The LORD, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as He promised them. 1 These are the territories the Israelites inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the ancestral tribes allotted to the Israelites. 2 Their inheritance was assigned by lot, as the LORD had commanded through Moses, for the nine and a half tribes. 3 For Moses had given the inheritance to the two and a half tribes east of the Jordan River, but to the Levites he did not give any inheritance among them. 4 The descendants of Joseph became two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. The Levites did not receive a portion of land but were instead given cities to live in, with pasturelands for their livestock and possessions. 5 The Israelites did as the LORD had commanded Moses and divided the land.
  • Josh 21:43-44 : 43 So the LORD gave Israel all the land He had sworn to give to their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. 44 The LORD gave them rest on every side, just as He had sworn to their fathers. • Num 32:33-42 : 33 Then Moses gave to the sons of Gad, the sons of Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan—the land with its cities and the territories surrounding them. 34 The sons of Gad built Dibon, Ataroth, and Aroer— 35 also Atroth-shophan, Jazer, and Jogbehah. 36 They also built Beth-nimrah and Beth-haran as fortified cities, and sheepfolds. 37 The sons of Reuben rebuilt Heshbon, Elealeh, and Kiriathaim— 38 as well as Nebo, Baal-meon (with their names changed), and Sibmah, and they gave new names to the cities they rebuilt. 39 The sons of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead, captured it, and drove out the Amorites who were there. 40 So Moses gave Gilead to Machir son of Manasseh, and he settled there. 41 Jair son of Manasseh went and captured their settlements, and he called them Havvoth-jair. 42 Nobah went and captured Kenath and its surrounding villages, and he called it Nobah after his own name.
  • Deut 3:1-9 : 1 Then we turned and traveled on the road to Bashan. Og, king of Bashan, came out with all his people to confront us in battle at Edrei. 2 The LORD said to me: 'Do not be afraid of him, for I have handed him over to you along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.' 3 So the LORD our God also gave us Og, king of Bashan, and all his people. We struck them down until no survivors remained. 4 We captured all his cities at that time—there was not a city we did not take from them—sixty cities in all, the entire region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 5 All these cities were fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, besides many unwalled rural towns. 6 We completely destroyed them, just as we had done to Sihon, king of Heshbon. In every city, we destroyed the men, women, and children. 7 But we kept all the livestock and the spoils of the cities for ourselves. 8 At that time, we took the land from the two Amorite kings across the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon. 9 (The Sidonians call Hermon 'Sirion,' and the Amorites call it 'Senir.') 10 We captured all the cities of the plateau, all of Gilead, and all of Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei—cities of Og's kingdom in Bashan. 11 For only Og, king of Bashan, remained from the remnant of the Rephaim. Look, his bed was made of iron and is still in Rabbah of the Ammonites. It is nine cubits long and four cubits wide, according to the standard cubit. 12 At that time, we took possession of this land, from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Valley, and half of the hill country of Gilead with its towns, and I gave them to the Reubenites and the Gadites. 13 The rest of Gilead and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to half the tribe of Manasseh. The entire region of Argob in Bashan is called the land of the Rephaim. 14 Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took the whole region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites. He named the villages of Bashan after himself, calling them Havvoth Jair, and they remain so to this day. 15 I gave Gilead to Machir. 16 To the Reubenites and the Gadites I gave the land extending from Gilead to the Arnon Valley, with the valley as the border, as far as the Jabbok River, the border of the Ammonites. 17 The Arabah, the Jordan, and its border, from Chinnereth to the east side of the Dead Sea (the Sea of the Arabah), beneath the slopes of Pisgah, was also included.

  • Deut 12:9 : 9 For you have not yet come into the resting place and the inheritance that the Lord your God is giving you.
