  • Ezek 37:1-9 : 1 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me all around them, and behold, there were very many bones lying on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. 3 He said to me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' I answered, 'Sovereign Lord, You alone know.' 4 Then He said to me, 'Prophesy over these bones and say to them, “Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!”' 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: 'Behold, I am going to bring breath into you, and you will come to life.' 6 'I will attach tendons to you, make flesh grow on you, and cover you with skin. I will put breath in you so that you come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.' 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them, and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. 9 Then He said to me, 'Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it: “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds, and breathe into these slain, so that they may live.”' 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army. 11 Then He said to me, 'Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, “Our bones are dried up, our hope is gone, and we are cut off.”' 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: 'Behold, I will open your graves, my people, and bring you up from them. I will bring you back to the land of Israel.'” 13 Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them, my people. 14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.

  • Luke 7:12-16 : 12 As Jesus approached the gate of the town, a dead man was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. A large crowd from the town was with her. 13 When the Lord saw her, He was moved with compassion for her and said, 'Do not weep.' 14 Then He approached the coffin, touched it, and the bearers stopped. He said, 'Young man, I say to you, arise.' 15 The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. 16 Fear took hold of everyone, and they glorified God, saying, 'A great prophet has risen among us!' and 'God has visited His people!'
  • 1 Cor 15:52-57 : 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will be fulfilled: 'Death is swallowed up in victory.' 55 Where, O death, is your sting? Where, O grave, is your victory? 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Job 14:7-9 : 7 At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its shoots will not fail. 8 Even if its roots grow old in the ground and its stump dies in the soil, 9 at the scent of water it will bud and produce branches like a young plant. 10 But a man dies and is laid low; he breathes his last and where is he? 11 As the waters of a lake dry up or a riverbed becomes parched and dry, 12 so man lies down and does not rise; till the heavens are no more, people will not awake or be roused from their sleep.
