  • Isa 10:1-9 : 1 Woe to those who enact unjust decrees and to those who write oppressive laws. 2 They deprive the poor of justice and rob the rights of the needy among my people, making widows their spoil and leaving orphans to be plundered. 3 What will you do on the day of punishment, when devastation comes from afar? To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth? 4 There will be nothing left but to bow down among prisoners or fall among the slain. Yet for all this, His anger has not turned away, and His hand is still stretched out. 5 Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger, in whose hands is the staff of My indignation! 6 I send him against a godless nation; I dispatch him against a people at My wrath, to seize plunder, to take spoil, and to trample them down like mud in the streets. 7 But this is not what he intends, nor does he plan it in his heart. Instead, his purpose is to destroy and to cut off many nations. 8 For he says, 'Are not all my princes kings? 9 Is not Calno like Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? And is not Samaria like Damascus? 10 Just as my hand seized the kingdoms of idols, whose carved images exceeded those of Jerusalem and Samaria, 11 shall I not do to Jerusalem and her idols as I have done to Samaria and her images? 12 When the Lord has finished all His work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, He will punish the pride of the king of Assyria's heart and the glory of his haughty eyes. 13 For he says, 'By the strength of my hand I have done this, and by my wisdom, because I have understanding. I removed the boundaries of nations, plundered their treasures, and brought down their mighty ones like a bull.' 14 My hand seized the wealth of nations like one finds a nest. As one gathers abandoned eggs, I gathered all the earth; no wing fluttered, no beak opened to chirp. 15 Does the axe exalt itself above the one who wields it? Or does the saw boast against the one who moves it? It would be like a rod waving the one who lifts it, or a staff acting as though it were not made of wood. 16 Therefore, the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, will send leanness among his robust ones, and under his glory, a burning will be kindled, like the burning of fire. 17 The Light of Israel will become a fire, their Holy One a flame; it will burn and devour his thorns and briars in a single day. 18 The glory of his forest and his fruitful fields will be consumed, both soul and body. It will be as when a sick man wastes away. 19 The remaining trees of his forest will be so few that a child could count them. 20 On that day, the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer lean on the one who struck them, but will truly rely on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel. 21 A remnant will return—a remnant of Jacob—to the Mighty God. 22 Even though your people, O Israel, are like the sand of the sea, only a remnant will return. Destruction has been decreed, overwhelming and righteous. 23 For the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, will execute the decreed destruction throughout the whole land. 24 Therefore, this is what the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, says: 'My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though they strike you with a rod and lift up their staff against you as Egypt did.' 25 For in just a little while, my indignation against you will end, and my anger will be directed to their destruction. 26 The LORD of Hosts will stir up a scourge against them as He did at the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb; and He will raise His staff over the sea as He did in Egypt. 27 On that day, their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because of your strength. 28 He has come against Aiath, passed through Migron; at Michmash, he stores his supplies. 29 They have crossed the pass; at Geba, they make camp. Ramah trembles; Gibeah of Saul flees. 30 Cry out, daughter of Gallim! Listen, Laishah! Answer her, Anathoth! 31 Madmenah flees; the inhabitants of Gebim take refuge. 32 Today, they will halt at Nob; they shake their fist at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem. 33 Behold, the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, will lop off the branches with terrifying power. The tall trees will be cut down, and the lofty ones will be humbled. 34 He will cut down the thickets of the forest with an axe, and Lebanon will fall by the Mighty One.
  • Isa 15:1-9 : 1 An oracle concerning Moab: In the night, Ar of Moab was devastated and destroyed. In the night, Kir of Moab was devastated and destroyed. 2 They have gone up to the temple and to Dibon, to the high places, to weep. Moab wails over Nebo and Medeba. Every head is shaved, and every beard is cut off. 3 In its streets, they wear sackcloth. On its rooftops and public squares, everyone wails, falling down in tears. 4 Heshbon and Elealeh cry out; their voices are heard as far as Jahaz. Therefore, the armed men of Moab cry out, and their souls are filled with dread. 5 My heart cries out for Moab; her fugitives flee to Zoar, like a three-year-old heifer. They go up weeping by the ascent of Luhith. On the way to Horonaim, they raise a cry of destruction. 6 The waters of Nimrim are desolate. The grass is withered, the vegetation has vanished, and nothing green remains. 7 So the wealth they have earned and their stored possessions will be carried away over the Wadi of the Willows. 8 For the cry has gone around the borders of Moab. Its wailing reaches Eglaim, and its lamentation goes all the way to Beer Elim. 9 The waters of Dimon are full of blood, and I will bring even more upon Dimon—a lion upon the survivors of Moab and upon those remaining in the land.
  • Isa 19:1-9 : 1 An oracle concerning Egypt: Look, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt. The idols of Egypt tremble before Him, and the hearts of the Egyptians melt within them. 2 I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians, and they will fight, each against his brother, each against his neighbor, city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. 3 The spirit of the Egyptians will be emptied from within them, and I will confound their plans. They will seek idols, mediums, spirits, and fortune-tellers. 4 I will hand over the Egyptians to a harsh master, and a fierce king will rule over them,” declares the Lord, the LORD of Hosts. 5 The waters will dry up from the sea, and the river will be parched and dry. 6 The rivers will stink, the streams of Egypt will dwindle and dry up; reeds and rushes will wither. 7 The meadows by the Nile, along the banks of the river, and all sown land by the Nile will wither, be blown away, and be no more. 8 The fishermen will mourn, all who cast hooks into the Nile will lament, and those who spread nets on the water will grow weak. 9 Those who work with combed flax and those who weave fine linen will be dismayed. 10 The pillars of the land will be crushed, and all who work for wages will be dejected in spirit. 11 The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish; Pharaoh's wisest counselors give senseless advice. How can you say to Pharaoh, 'I am a descendant of the wise, a son of ancient kings'? 12 Where are your wise men now? Let them tell you and make known what the LORD of Hosts has planned against Egypt. 13 The princes of Zoan have become fools; the princes of Memphis are deceived. They have led Egypt astray, the cornerstone of its tribes. 14 The LORD has mixed within her a spirit of confusion, and they have led Egypt astray in all that it does, like a drunkard staggering in his vomit. 15 There will be no work for Egypt that head or tail, palm branch or reed, can accomplish. 16 In that day, the Egyptians will be like women and will tremble with fear before the uplifted hand of the LORD of Hosts, which He raises against them. 17 The land of Judah will terrify Egypt, and everyone in Egypt who hears the mention of it will be gripped with fear because of the plan of the LORD of Hosts, which He is devising against them. 18 In that day, five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear allegiance to the LORD of Hosts. One of them will be called the City of the Sun. 19 In that day, there will be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a monument to the LORD on its border. 20 It will be a sign and a witness to the LORD of Hosts in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, He will send them a savior and defender, and He will rescue them. 21 So the LORD will make Himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day, they will acknowledge the LORD. They will worship with sacrifices and offerings; they will make vows to the LORD and fulfill them. 22 The LORD will strike Egypt with a plague; He will strike them and heal them. Then they will turn to the LORD, and He will respond to their pleas and heal them. 23 In that day, there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt, and the Egyptians to Assyria, and the Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. 24 In that day, Israel will join a threefold alliance with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing upon the earth. 25 The LORD of Hosts will bless them, saying, 'Blessed be Egypt My people, Assyria My handiwork, and Israel My inheritance.'
  • Isa 37:11-13 : 11 You have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands by utterly destroying them. Will you be delivered? 12 Did the gods of the nations that my predecessors destroyed—Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar—deliver them? 13 Where now is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, or of Hena and Ivvah?

I have reached its remotest heights, the densest of its forests. 25 I dug wells and drank water; with the soles of my feet, I dried up all the rivers of Egypt. 26 Have you not heard?
