    9I will raise weeping and wailing for the mountains and a dirge for the pastures in the wilderness, because they are burned up and desolate; no one passes through, and cattle cannot be heard anymore—birds of the sky and animals alike have fled and are gone.

    10I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a lair of jackals, and I will make the towns of Judah desolate, without inhabitants.
