8Jerusalem has sinned greatly and so has become unclean. All who honored her despise her, for they have seen her nakedness; she herself groans and turns away.
16The LORD says, 'Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, walking with outstretched necks, flirting with their eyes, taking short, mincing steps, and jingling ornaments on their feet,
17therefore the Lord will make the crowns of the daughters of Zion scabby, and the LORD will expose their secret parts.'
7But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people.
8Therefore, the wrath of the LORD fell upon Judah and Jerusalem, and He made them an object of horror, devastation, and scorn, as you can see with your own eyes.
19There is no healing for your wound; your injury is fatal. All who hear the news about you will clap their hands over you. For who has not suffered your endless cruelty?
10The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence. They have thrown dust on their heads and dressed themselves in sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground in despair.
14The children of those who oppressed you will come and bow down before you; all who despised you will bow at your feet. They will call you the City of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
15Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, with no one passing through, I will make you an everlasting pride, a joy of all generations.
8Many nations will pass by this city and ask one another, 'Why has the LORD done such a thing to this great city?'
11But now many nations are gathered against you, saying, 'Let her be defiled, and let our eyes gloat over Zion.'
5Who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will mourn for you? Who will turn aside to ask how you are?
13What can I say on your behalf? To what can I compare you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What can I liken you to, so that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? Your wound is as vast as the sea—who can heal you?
14The visions of your prophets were false and empty; they did not expose your iniquity to restore your fortunes. Instead, they saw false and misleading oracles for you.
17Zion stretches out her hands, but there is no one to comfort her. The LORD has decreed for Jacob that his neighbors become his foes; Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them.
18Jerusalem, the towns of Judah, its kings, and officials, to make them a ruin, a desolation, an object of hissing and cursing, as they are today.
8For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen, because their speech and actions are against the LORD, challenging His glorious presence.

7Everyone who sees you will flee from you, saying, 'Nineveh is devastated! Who will mourn for her? Where can I find anyone to comfort you?'
12Neither the kings of the earth nor the inhabitants of the world believed that the adversary and the enemy could enter the gates of Jerusalem.
6For this is what the Lord of Hosts says: Cut down trees and build a siege ramp against Jerusalem. This city must be punished; it is filled with oppression.
