17 therefore the Lord will make the crowns of the daughters of Zion scabby, and the LORD will expose their secret parts.'

4 Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah:
10 The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence. They have thrown dust on their heads and dressed themselves in sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground in despair.
33 Therefore, this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria: He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with a shield or build a siege ramp against it.
9 "This is what the LORD says: 'In this way I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.
8 See how they spew out insults; their lips are sharp like swords, and they say, 'Who can hear us?'
15 The Lord has rejected all my mighty men in my midst; he summoned an assembly against me to crush my young men. Like in a winepress, the Lord has trodden the virgin daughter of Judah.
32 Therefore, this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria: 'He will not enter this city, shoot an arrow here, come before it with a shield, or build a siege ramp against it.'
27 Was not Israel a laughingstock to you? Was he found among thieves, that whenever you speak of him you wag your head in scorn?
17 Zion stretches out her hands, but there is no one to comfort her. The LORD has decreed for Jacob that his neighbors become his foes; Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them.
14 The children of those who oppressed you will come and bow down before you; all who despised you will bow at your feet. They will call you the City of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
15 Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, with no one passing through, I will make you an everlasting pride, a joy of all generations.
8 Jerusalem has sinned greatly and so has become unclean. All who honored her despise her, for they have seen her nakedness; she herself groans and turns away.
2 Shake off the dust, rise up; sit enthroned, Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains around your neck, captive Daughter of Zion.
