    23Then King Solomon swore by the Lord, saying, God do so to me, and more, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.

    14Behold, while you yet speak there with the king, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words.

    15And Bathsheba went to the king into the chamber; and the king was very old, and Abishag the Shunammite was serving the king.

    16And Bathsheba bowed and did homage to the king. And the king said, What do you wish?

    17And she said to him, My lord, you swore by the LORD your God to your servant, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

    18And now, behold, Adonijah reigns; and now, my lord the king, you do not know it.
