And David said to Michal, It was before the LORD, who chose me before your father and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel; therefore will I play before the LORD.

18Now then do it, for the LORD has spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.
19Now, therefore, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD has stirred you up against me, let Him accept an offering. But if it is the children of men, cursed are they before the LORD, for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, 'Go, serve other gods.'
5And David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul's servants.
18Then one of the servants answered and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty valiant man, a man of war, prudent in speech, a handsome person, and the LORD is with him.
14And David said to him, How are you not afraid to stretch forth your hand to destroy the LORD'S anointed?
10The LORD therefore has performed his word that he has spoken; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
30Then the princes of the Philistines went forth: and it came to pass, when they went forth, that David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was highly esteemed.
17And David said to God, Was it not I who commanded the people to be numbered? It is I who have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? Let your hand, I pray, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on your people, that they should be afflicted.
