And He answered him, saying, You say it. 4 Then Pilate said to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. 5 But they were even more fierce, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to here.

And behold, I have examined Him in your presence, and have found no fault in this man concerning those things of which you accuse Him. 15 No, nor Herod, for I sent you to him, and indeed nothing deserving death has been done by Him. 16 I will therefore chastise Him and release Him. 17 (For it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast.) 18 And they all cried out at once, saying, Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas: 19 (who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder.) 20 Pilate, therefore, wanting to release Jesus, spoke again to them. 21 But they cried, saying, Crucify Him, crucify Him. 22 And he said to them the third time, Why, what evil has He done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore chastise Him and let Him go. 23 But they persisted with loud voices, demanding that He be crucified. And their voices and those of the chief priests prevailed. 24 And Pilate sentenced that it should be as they requested. 25 And he released to them the one who had been thrown into prison for rebellion and murder, whom they had asked for; but he delivered Jesus to their will. 26 And as they led Him away, they seized Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the country, and they laid the cross on him, that he might carry it behind Jesus. 27 And a great crowd of people followed Him, and of women who also mourned and lamented Him. 28 But Jesus, turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For indeed, the days are coming in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts which never nursed. 30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. 31 For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry? 32 And there were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. 33 And when they came to the place called Calvary, they crucified Him there, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. 34 Then Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. And they divided His garments and cast lots. 35 And the people stood looking on. But the rulers, with them, sneered, saying, He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is Christ, the chosen of God. 36 The soldiers also mocked Him, coming to Him and offering Him vinegar, 37 and saying, If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself. 38 And an inscription was also written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Jesus answered, You say correctly that I am a king. For this purpose I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice. 38 Pilate said to him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews and said to them, I find no fault in him at all. 39 But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews? 40 Then they all cried again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. 1 Then Pilate took Jesus and scourged him. 2 And the soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they placed on him a purple robe, 3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! And they struck him with their hands. 4 Pilate then went out again and said to them, Behold, I bring him out to you, so that you may know I find no fault in him. 5 Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, Behold the man! 6 When the chief priests and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate said to them, Take him yourselves and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. 7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. 8 When Pilate heard that saying, he was even more afraid; 9 And went again into the judgment hall, and said to Jesus, Where are you from? But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 Then Pilate said to him, Do you not speak to me? Do you not know that I have the power to crucify you, and have the power to release you? 11 Jesus answered, You could have no power against me at all, except it were given you from above: therefore he who delivered me to you has the greater sin. 12 And from then on Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If you let this man go, you are not Caesar's friend: Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar. 13 When Pilate heard that saying, he brought Jesus out and sat down in the judgment seat in a place called the Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha. 14 And it was the preparation of the Passover, about the sixth hour: and he said to the Jews, Behold your King! 15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate said to them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. 16 Then he delivered him to them to be crucified. And they took Jesus and led him away. 17 And he, bearing his cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew Golgotha: 18 Where they crucified him, and with him two others, one on each side, and Jesus in the middle. 19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing said, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. 20 This title many of the Jews read, for where Jesus was crucified was near the city: and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. 21 Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. 22 Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written. 23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. 24 They said among themselves, Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They divided my clothes among them, and for my clothing they did cast lots. Therefore, the soldiers did these things.

And the high priest answered and said to him, I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus said to him, You have said it: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter shall you see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy. 66 What do you think? They answered and said, He is guilty of death. 67 Then did they spit in his face, and hit him; and others struck him with the palms of their hands, 68 Saying, Prophesy to us, you Christ, Who is he that struck you?
