7I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to spy out the land, and I brought him word again as it was in my heart.
8Nevertheless, my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the LORD my God.

17And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, Go up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:
18See the land, how it is; and the people who dwell in it, whether they are strong or weak, few or many;
20And what the land is, whether it is rich or poor, whether there is wood in it, or not. Be of good courage, and bring some of the fruit of the land. Now was the time of the first ripe grapes.
21So they went up and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, near the entrance of Hamath.
44These are those who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, along with the leaders of Israel, being twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.

10And we will take ten men out of every hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, a hundred out of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to bring food for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly they have committed in Israel.

33Who went in the way before you, to search out a place for you to pitch your tents, in fire by night to show you by what way you should go, and in a cloud by day.

15And they came to the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, in the land of Gilead, and spoke with them, saying,
23Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then you rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and you did not believe him, nor listen to his voice.
4Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, who came out of the land of Egypt.
11And the LORD said to me, Arise, take your journey ahead of the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give to them.
13And they first set out according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
